Under the provisions of Section 25, Sub Section(1) laid down in Disaster Management Act 2005, the Puducherry District Disaster Management Authority has been constituted w.e.f. 01.08.2007, as detailed below:

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is responsible for disaster management at the district level. It coordinates with various departments and agencies to ensure preparedness, mitigation, and effective response to disasters.
The authority meets regularly to review disaster management plans and ensure proper implementation of policies and guidelines.
